Hethre Larivee has always been intrigued by hot glass and enjoys the challenges of working with glass in pursuit of the elusive idea of perfection. She has been working with glass for over 10 years, beginning in stained glass and continuing onto flameworking and glassblowing. She has studied under many renowned hot glass artists such as Emilio Santini and Martin Janecky. Her current work explores thoughts and desires, combining her skills in both flameworking and glassblowing. Hethre’s work can be seen in several publications, such as the New Glass Review #27. She shows her work in several galleries, including the Corning Museum of Glass, the Carlyn Galerie in Dallas and through the League of NH Craftsmen. At Diablo she enjoys teaching the Boro I and II classes in the flameshop and will be offering mixed media classes for the flameshop and hotshop in which students combine pieces made in each studio to form a single, cohesive finished piece.
