Michel L’Huillier studied Fine Arts and Art History in Strasbourg, France. There he learned and developed low relief kilnforming techniques inspired by the Australian glass artist Warren Langley, applied to large scale architectural glass panels. In the USA, he became an apprentice and then a project manager in a Boston stained glass studio specialized in ecclesiastical commissions. During the same time, at "The Studio" of the Corning Glass Museum in Corning NY, Michel refined and diversified his kilnforming techniques with fusing expert Rudi Gritsch. With 18 years of experience in glass, Michel likes to draw from 3 different techniques: kilnforming, fusing, stained glass and works on commissions for architectural project such as the Marathon Place on Boylston Street, Boston. His fused and sandblasted objects: plates, mirrors and wall panels find their place in New England galleries. Over the last 5 years, with enthusiasm and humor, Michel has been sharing his passion for glass while teaching glass painting, stained glass and fusin.
